The freakiest video on YouTube - Killa Clowns - Freakshow! PDF Print E-mail

Killa Clowns - FreakshowAs a nice little contrast to all the lame music on the Swedish TV show "Melodifestivalen", I had the pleasure of mastering the new song "Freakshow" by the hip hop group Killa Clowns from Gothenburg, Sweden. My mission was to make their audio a bit more dirty, bassy, pumping out from the speakers.

Aron McFaul is the young producer of this song, a nephew of mine who is a really talented song writer in Gothenburg. He is also a man who likes to get things going and it will be interesting to follow him and his band on their way developing a musical career. When listening to this song one can easily hear that they've got all what it takes in terms of quality to enter an international music scene. Now it's up to the radio stations..

For an old school hip hop producer like myself, it's always nice to dig into some funky hip hop again. Especially when it sounds as good as this! It's been about twenty years now since I released the debut album "Lettin of Steam" on vinyl record together with Papa Dee, another great artist from Gothenburg. Killa Clown just released their new song together with a video broadcasted on YouTube (it can be viewed at the bottom of this article). Another time, another format. When I started out, one had to have a record company to get anywhere. I'm glad those days are over. Die record industry, die.. (perhaps that's what the guy who get's beaten up in the video represents?).

You won't believe me when I say that these boys are the most friendly people on earth after looking at this weird, brutal and bloody video! Poor youth, what happened to "make love, not war"? But I guess these guys had a crazy lot of fun when shooting the video. Let's pretend it's Halloween.. So, all the best to Killa Clowns GBG! I'm proud to hear that the heaviest beats in Sweden still rocks from Gothenburg!

Band Hero for Xbox 360 and The Beatles computer gameMy son is about to turn six. On his birthday he will receive an Xbox 360 from a relative. So now it's time to introduce him and his sister into the world of computer gaming. I've been chasing around the stores in the city looking for something creative and finally bought Guitar Hero, or more precisely; Band Hero, the box containing several intruments to control the famous music game. I also bought the Beatles game which have been developed in close cooperation with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and others. A perfect gift to let my children develop an ear for some music of great quality. They will improve motorical skills as well, which I think is useful in their Suzuki violin playing. Not the least, our whole family will enjoy playing with this and have fun while making music! Just to inform other interested in buying this stuff, the prices varies a lot between different stores. On "Siba", where I bought my copy of Band Hero, it was about 500 SEK cheaper than at "Elgiganten" where the same package would have cost about 1.500 SEK. Anyway, now we're ready to rock with the Beatles!
